Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the battery compartment located on the Rockin' Rider Pony, Spring Horse and Stick pony?
The battery compartment for our Rockin' Rider toys (including Plush Rockers, Spring Horses and Stick Ponies) is located either on the left side of the mane, along the neck, or on the back of the head. There is a Velcro strip underneath the hair (if applicable), and the battery compartment is located inside it. Most take three AA batteries. The battery compartment for the Elmo's Racing Rocker is located on the lower side of the toy forward of the rocker base.
Why can I not get music and sound effects to play on my Rockin' Rider toy?
There are buttons in both ears on our Rockin' Rider toys (including Plush Rockers, Spring Horses and Stick Ponies) that activate the music and sound effects. Squeeze the ears, and your toy should come alive!
Where can I purchase rechargeable batteries and chargers for your older 6 volt ride-on toys?
Tek Nek Toys still sells the rechargeable battery and charger for our older 6-volt ride-on toys. All other replacement parts, including steering wheels, handlebars, motors, and gears, are no longer available. Also, manuals and wiring diagrams are not available. Please leave a voicemail or send an email if you wish to purchase the 6-volt battery and/or charger.
Batteries are currently 35 dollars, and chargers are 32 dollars, plus shipping to your address. Orders shipped outside the continental United States will incur additional charges for shipping and customs costs. Orders placed inside the state of Texas will be charged a state sales tax of 8 1/4 percent. We accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover.
Please note that these 6-volt toys have not been produced since 2002, and retailers stopped carrying these batteries and chargers when they stopped selling the toys. Also, the battery for these toys is a sealed lead-acid battery, similar to a car battery, which has a limited service life.
Replacement parts, 6-volt batteries and chargers for the Fast Lane, Sport 4x4 and Dream Dazzlers ride-on vehicles, where the battery is located in the front of the vehicle under the hood, are no longer available.
